com/vetspecialistsloveland Overnight Veterinary Emergency Technician, RVT We are seeking a mature, competent, and fun Overnight Emergency/ICU Technician with solid technical skills to join our diversified team! In addition to emergency and critical care, this candidate will also be able to support the wide variety of specialty departments within our hospital; internal medicine, surgery, oncology, cardiology, radiology, and dentistry.
The Overnight Emergency Technician is responsible for the care and treatment of unstable and or critically ill patients, triaging emergency patients, monitoring hospitalized pets, running patient tests, administering treatments, and providing nursing care.
The Overnight Emergency/ICU Technician must be proficient at IV catheters, blood draws, laboratory procedures, monitoring anesthesia, and medication administration.
As part of a collaborative team approach, the Emergency/ICU CVT will also be responsible for admitting and discharging patients, and delivering an exceptional client experience through clear, compassionate communication and education.
There is also opportunity to promote and market the practice's programs, products, and services through Continuing Education events and other marketing initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Skills Venipuncture IV catheter placement In-house laboratory analysis (IDEXX) - proper handling of tissue samples for submission, blood smear differential analysis, collection & evaluation of urine samples Anesthesia monitoring including ECG, SpO2, etCO2, resp, temp, BP and recognition of common abnormalities Fluid therapy - including administration and calculations of rates, CRI's and ancillary therapies Knowledge of pharmaceuticals - proper calculations and administration Radiology - including safety, knowledge of DR, patient positioning and restraint Knowledge of instrument and equipment cleaning, storage and sterilization methods, including autoclave and ETO With Four Seasons being a specialty hospital, advanced skills are needed to provide our highest quality of patient care.
The candidate may not possess these skills at time of hire, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS Required:
Registerer Veterinary Technician or active Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) on track to register with the CO DORA.
Two years of recent Technician experience in veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities.
Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain animals and stand for periods of time.
Be proficient at IV catheters, blood draws, laboratory procedures, monitoring anesthesia, medication administration and triaging.
Knowledge of veterinary practices, procedures and terminology with willingness to pursue further education.
Familiar with federal and state animal health laws, including OSHA and DEA regulations.
Preferred:
Two or more years of recent veterinary technician experience in Emergency and/or Critical Care with increasing responsibilities.
Fear Free technique familiarity Experience with the software- Cornerstone and Instinct.
