Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Must meet all 4 elements to qualify (1) Experience applying standards, laws, codes, policies, practices and current technology; (2) Experience as a manager or leader of a safety and occupational health program for employees engaged in a broad range of high hazard functions such as, or similar to, those inherent in the construction, operations and maintenance of high voltage power systems; (3) Experience conducting and coordinating safety and occupational health training; (4) Extensive high voltage knowledge and experience is required. Knowledge and ability to interpret applicable requirements and regulations of Federal, state and local agencies. Ability to develop new safety policies and procedures where none exist or modify existing safety policies and procedures when warranted. Ability to communicate thoroughly in writing as well as verbally. Knowledge of human performance and just culture principles. Ability to lead a team in an investigation considering all requirements are met including the timeliness and sensitivity of such an investigation. Knowledge required to develop and implement corrective action plans. Ability to work well with others in a team oriented environment. Ability to lead and supervise a team of safety professionals and administrative staff. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time-in-Grade:
