Maintenance Management Specialist

This position serves as supervisor over the maintenance management and compliance program and the technical authority responsible for work activity management in the Maintenance Department. As the supervisor, the incumbent has responsibility for program oversight of the maintenance management and compliance program. As the technical authority, the incumbent has responsibility for the development of work activity process development, tool implementation, planning, technical evaluation, and monitoring of the maintenance schedules and performance information to meet management requirements. The incumbent is the primary representative for maintenance concerning work activity management between finance, procurement, environment, lands, operations, transmission planning, management, and others. The incumbent exercises technical guidance over lower grade maintenance management specialists, maintenance specialists, compliance specialists, technicians, and clerical support staff. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSA qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Experience setting program goals and assigning work based on agency goals and employee capability. Experience with work activities associated with a Maintenance organization. Experience defining and implementing work activity processes. Experience working with NERC/FERC compliance requirements and how they relate to a Maintenance organization. Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques related to the electric utility operation and power system planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance. Skill in designing and conducting a wide variety of management studies to improve complex maintenance planning and management processes. Ability to create reports using standard software which requires a working knowledge of database structures and query languages. Knowledge of evaluation techniques in measuring the effectiveness of new or revised maintenance, compliance, and business processes. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
